Watercolour on vellum of Ribes americanum, the American Blackcurrant by G. D. Ehret. Ehret was born in Germany and in 1736 his drawings for George Clifford were used in Linnaeus's Hortus Cliffortianus. Ehret later moved to England and worked at the Chelsea Physic Garden and Oxford Botanic Garden.
